Keeping the Congregation Informed
Annual Congregational Meeting – The Council decided to fix our annual congregational meeting to the Sunday BEFORE Reformation Sunday.
Council Members – Two new council members will be chosen at the annual congregational meeting. The Council voted and Marc Voigt and Steve Frucht will rotate off Council at the end of the year. GLC is appreciative of their service to God and to the Church.
Finance – The council decided to continue transferring money from the operating fund to the building fund, keeping a minimum of 60,000 dollars in the operating fund. Additionally, the Council decided to discuss the transfer amount at each monthly council meeting instead of setting a regular amount.
At present the building fund is at $32,165.94 and the operating fund is at $66,478.39.
Facilities – Rob Maxey reported about a property on Harper Road (four acres, asking 90,000 dollars). Some council members are familiar with this property and others plan see it.
The Council also discussed the pros and cons of the church in Hanes Town and decided to inquire about the price before further discussion.
Miscellaneous – The Council revisited sending 500 dollars to Reformation Church. Steve will go ahead and send them a check as a means of assistance.
Sola is fund raising around the 500th anniversary of The Reformation by asking for 500, $500 donations. GLC uses Sola materials and supports there mission therefore the Council voted to participate make a donation in the amount of 500 dollars.
